About
This training builds staff competency in the blood pressure and cardiovascular referral workflow. Staff will learn proper BP screening preparation, non-clinical education boundaries, referral thresholds, documentation requirements, and escalation steps for abnormal readings or warning symptoms. High blood pressure during pregnancy and postpartum can be life-threatening. Hypertensive disorders contribute to maternal morbidity and mortality, especially among Black women and birthing people. The organization's standard of care includes BP screening or BP status review during prenatal and postpartum visits through 12 months postpartum.
