Voices From Our Community
Real experiences. Real families. Real impact.
At The Black Collaborative Inc., we believe that families are the experts of their own lives. The stories shared here reflect the lived experiences of parents and caregivers who have engaged with our Community Care Closet and support services. These voices help us understand what works, what is missing, and how systems must change to better support Black, Brown, and marginalized families.

I know where to go if I need help feeding my baby.
I feel supported in caring for my infant.
Receiving support today reduced my stress.

“I was running out of baby milk and pampers and didn’t know what I was going to do. They stepped in with exactly what I needed. It’s comforting to know that when my kids need something, I have somewhere to turn.”

“I came because I needed help for my children—diapers, pull-ups, clothes, and food. The support I received was incredibly helpful and resourceful. It reminded me that I’m not alone in the struggle called life.”
