Heart disease remains a leading cause of death in the United States, with Black communities facing a disproportionate burden. Hypertension often goes undiagnosed or untreated due to barriers like limited access to care and costly monitoring equipment. To address these challenges, The BLACK Collaborative Inc. is launching the BLACK R&B Heart Hub at The Center of Eden starting Thursday, March 12, 2026. This new community-based space focuses on cardiovascular health, prevention, and education tailored specifically for Black communities.

Why the BLACK R&B Heart Hub Is Vital
Heart disease affects millions, but Black individuals face higher rates of hypertension and related complications. Many do not have regular blood pressure checks or the tools to monitor their heart health at home. This gap contributes to late diagnoses and unmanaged conditions.
The Heart Hub offers a trusted, local place where people can:
Get early identification of elevated blood pressure
Access routine monitoring and education
Receive support to connect with medical care when needed
Gain knowledge and confidence to manage their heart health
By bringing these services directly into the community, the Heart Hub removes common barriers and encourages proactive health management.
Services Offered at the Heart Hub
The Heart Hub provides a range of services designed to meet participants wherever they are in their cardiovascular health journey.
Blood Pressure Screenings
Visitors can stop by for on-site blood pressure checks. Staff explain what the numbers mean and offer guidance on next steps. This immediate feedback helps people understand their risk and encourages timely action.
Blood Pressure Monitoring & Loaner Program
Not everyone owns a home blood pressure monitor. The Heart Hub’s loaner program lets participants borrow digital cuffs to track their readings regularly at home. This ongoing monitoring helps detect changes early and supports better health decisions.
Weekly Check-Ins and Support
Participants in the monitoring program can join weekly check-ins with Heart Hub staff. These sessions provide encouragement, answer questions, and offer advice on managing blood pressure. Optional virtual video calls make it easy to stay connected from home.

Building Heart Health Awareness and Confidence
Education is a core part of the Heart Hub’s mission. Staff provides clear, practical information about:
What blood pressure numbers mean
Lifestyle changes that support heart health
How to recognize symptoms that require medical attention
This knowledge helps participants feel confident in managing their health and making informed choices.
Community Impact and Long-Term Goals
The BLACK R&B Heart Hub aims to create lasting change by:
Reducing undiagnosed hypertension rates
Encouraging routine blood pressure monitoring
Connecting people to healthcare providers early
Supporting healthier lifestyles through education and follow-up
By focusing on prevention and ongoing support, the Heart Hub hopes to lower heart disease risks and improve the quality of life in Black communities.

Taking the Next Step for Your Heart Health
Knowing your blood pressure numbers is the first step toward protecting your heart. The BLACK R&B Heart Hub offers a welcoming space where you can get checked, learn, and receive support without barriers. Whether you need a quick screening or ongoing monitoring, the Heart Hub is here to help.
If you or someone you know lives in the area, consider visiting The Center of Eden starting March 12, 2026. Take control of your heart health today by joining the Heart Hub community.
